The New York Times: Goldman Picks New Leader in Asset Management Unit

The division manages about $871 billion in assets for institutional and other clients. Mr. Spilker, who has been a partner at the company since 1996, will become a senior director at Goldman, an unpaid position.

“Marc has consistently committed himself to the highest standards of the firm. He has personified our values of teamwork, innovation and client service,” Goldman’s chief executive Lloyd C. Blankfein, and chief operating officer Gary D. Cohn, wrote in an internal memo. “Marc has made outstanding contributions throughout the firm and has mentored many colleagues who have developed into our important leaders.”
